Team Tata has been fighting breast cancer since 1978! That's when my mom was first diagnosed with breast cancer. She was 31 and I was only 7 years old. Breast cancer killed her when she was only 36 years old. It was just before my 13th birthday.
I was 37 years old when I was diagnosed, and can now call myself a 10-year survivor! I credit my relatively easy journey to the advances in care and because I caught my breast cancer early; before it had spread outside of my breast.
From our first Breast Cancer 1/2 Marathon in Jacksonville, FL (2006) to the Komen 3-day walk, to 6 years of supporting Standup Muskegon, Team Tata fights for our friends, our children, and friends we haven't even met yet... but will someday! 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast in their lifetime. Help us ~ Help them!
Please consider joining/supporting our team at Standup for the Cure Muskegon on July 11th, 2020! You can join by registering for the event or simply by DONATING to this great cause. Your help saves lives in West Michigan.
Thank you ~ Mahalo!
Standup for the Cure is a festival-style, family-friendly event for standup paddlers of all levels, and an opportunity for ALL – family, friends, coworkers, and colleagues – to help raise money for breast cancer screening and research!
