Style Perfect Events has been the event planning partner of Pierce’s Project for the past 3 years. With the help of an amazing team of 12 board members we put on their annual fundraising event, Premature Oktoberfest.
Pierce's Project, is a non-profit fund, managed by Novant Healthcare Foundation which serves families of micropreemies and chronically ill infants at all stages of their journey- before, during and after NICU stays.
Here at Style Perfect Events our core team is made up of two moms: Carla, the Owner and Principal Event Planner, who has two daughters, Naomi (4) and Ruby (15 months) and Cynthia our Events and Marketing Manager who has two sons, Carter (3) and Collin (7 months). Cynthia’s son Carter was in the NICU for a week due to an infection. That short period of time was life changing for Cynthia and her husband as well as her family. As moms we have really connected with Pierce’s Project and want to help make a difference.
Working for Pierce's Project and hearing stories from our former wedding couples and creative partners has brought to the forefront how stressful and difficult a NICU stay can be on everyone. The support that Pierce’s Project is able to give to these families is life changing. My goal is to raise $1,000. All the funds raised will go to Pierce's Project to support families of micropreemies and chronically ill infants here in the Charlotte area!
Please read the stories from our Style Perfect family about their NICU experience.
Quana - Style Perfect Bride
We coordinated Quana and Deiric’s wedding in August 2018.
My son will celebrate his 7th birthday this month, healthy and smiling, thanks to the NICU doctors and nurses at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia! My son was born at 34 weeks due to an incompetent cervix diagnosis. He spent exactly 3 weeks in the NICU because he was unable to suck, swallow, and breathe at the same time which made it extremely difficult for feedings. The nurses and doctors made my daily visits to the hospital very comfortable, not only catering to Carson’s needs, but my needs as a new mom! Breast pumps were available, therapy consultations were scheduled for Carson and I, and I was well informed of his early milestones, which were very important because I did not like being away from him at such an early stage in his life. I felt extremely comfortable leaving my baby in the hands of the NICU nurses and are forever grateful for them for the integral part in my son’s life!

My experience at Novant NICU was incredible. The love and respect I have for the staff at Novant NICU is hard for me to put into words. The people who take care of these tiny miracles are truly earthly angels. To be thrown into such a stressful situation with having a baby 9 weeks early, I could not have asked for better doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, etc. Skylee was born on March 9th at 11:33 pm at 30 weeks 6 days old. I was shocked, scared, worried, but with all my questions even some really stupid ones, the staff at the Novant NICU was patient, kind, considerate, loving, thoughtful…I could honestly go on and on. Our stay was a long 6 weeks but some babies stay much longer so we were blessed to be heading home in just 6 weeks.
My family and I have made some great new friends both who work in the NICU and parents who were in the same situation as us. I feel truly blessed even though the situation was not what my family planned for or wanted but we now have a healthy 6 month old little girl who is thriving because of Novant NICU.
Help us make sure no parent has to experience a NICU journey without the compassion and support of someone like you!
