I was diagnosed with stage 4 NSCLC after a brain tumor was found. I was a single mom to a precious 7 year old daughter and it wasn’t even a month after my 33rd birthday. I was given 12-18 months to live. That was 6 years ago. I participate in this event each year because it’s such a good way to spread lung cancer awareness and even if you don’t win, 80% of the money raised goes to your cancer center.
My cancer center is Piedmont Atlanta. Last year I presented them a check for the majority of the funds I raised. I came in 3rd during the very first Super Bowl challenge. It was an amazing experience. I got to meet so many people and really spread awareness. Sitting next to Andy Dalton, sharing my story was so exciting. That is just one example. So create a team and raise some money for research in hopes that you can have this experience!
