Danielle Janosik, TEAM RYAN
This August 3rd-4th I will be attempting to run one mile every hour for 24 consecutive hours in the Anytime Fitness 24 in 24 Challenge.
I have seen the struggles too closely of a child that has been stricken with cancer and the toll it has taken on him and his family. It is heartbreaking. This challenge, while I know will be extremely dificult, is nothing compared to what these kids and families are facing everyday. To stay up for 24 hours to run in the heat (we all know I love my snow!) will be my greatest fitness/mind challenge to date. But in the big picture, it is something so small to sacrifice for these kids. I can lose a night's sleep to help make a better day for someone else. And I am super excited to run for RYAN!! While I have not been fortunate enough to meet him yet, he sounds amazing, and reminds me so much of my nephew. I cannot imagine the struggles he is faced with everyday and I think about his family with every step I take, in every run I make. Please help me grant Ryan's wish to keep that most handsome smile on his face!!!!
Since 2015, this difficult event has since raised over $240,000 for A Special Wish Cleveland, and specifically for Northeast Ohio children battling life threatening illnesses. This year I am running for Ryan.
In November 2018, a swollen lymph node on Ryan’s neck revealed that Ryan was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin T Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Ryan is a smart, fun, energetic, competitive 12-year-old boy with big dreams and an even bigger heart. He loves being outdoors, playing hockey, and spending time with friends and family.
