In July of 2016 I was still blissfully unaware of the cruelty of sarcomas. But by August 2017 it had stolen the young life of a dear friend. I worked with Pierre Walton at Providence St. Peter’s Hospital in the Distribution Department. We became fast friends and our families quickly became close, too. I could not have foreseen the difficult path that our friendship would travel together.
As heartbreaking as it was to accompany Pierre on the final journey of his mortal existence, I was honored to be there with him. Being with Pierre during this time taught me many lessons about true friendship, faith, love, forgiveness, family, and gratitude. With these lessons, Pierre lives on as part of my life’s journey.
The Northwest Sarcoma Foundation has dubbed people currently battling the sarcoma dragon as Dragonslayers. I would be incredibly grateful it if you would help me in raising money to help provide hope, education, and support to the Dragonslayers in the Northwest in honor of my brave warrior friend, Pierre Walton.
