I am riding to support OHEL’s foster children through Team OHEL in a 40-mile bike tour throughout all five boroughs of New York and I need your support to help me raise critical funds for children removed from homes because of neglect and/or abuse. Since 1969, OHEL Children’s Home & Family Services, has provided loving homes to over 2,500 foster children of all ages, different communities and diverse backgrounds. Trained and qualified loving OHEL foster families provide loving homes to such children who can be in foster care from one day to 18 years. And OHEL’s Foster Care team of dedicated professionals provide 24/7 support to both the children and foster families. OHEL ensures each and every child thrives in these homes, receives nourishment, and all necessary tangible items to support them. OHEL works to ensure every foster child attends the best school where they can thrive, raising funding to sponsor their tuition. In addition, OHEL provides regular counseling for families, children and teenagers. OHEL ensures that every foster child receives the best medical care and often additional special needs services as many foster children face a number of unique challenges. OHEL additionally raises funding to pay the tuition of the many children living with their parent in OHEL’s many Domestic Violence shelters.
