Hi! I'm Tim. Every year BMS teams cycle coast to coast for cancer. For the last couple of years, I've met up with them when they come through KC to rally behind the riders.
As another year of coast to coast approached and I am feeling healthier post treatment, I wanted more than anything to be a rider. It's been a goal of mine to get on the road with other BMS teams. Unfortunately, it isn't realistic right now.
Now enter my friend Janelle that is constantly learing about health and wellness. We occasionaly work out together and Janelle has been daydreaming about riding across the country since i told her about it. However, her work schedule and other commitments make it impossible to be on the road for the duration of the race.
Working out isn't the only thing Janelle and I have in common: Janelle and I are both cancer survivors. She was recently cleared and is doing everything she can to get back her strength and maintain her health. And I'm passionate abut spreading awareness and giving back as much as possible.
With that and since Janelle and I have been working out anyways, we decided to turn those gym sessions into something bigger than us. We are committed to riding the same distance as coast to coast: 3k miles.
This challenge may be too for the two of us but at the end of the day we hope to spread awareness and at the very least be healthy. As we rack up miles, we will also be accepting donations to go to the V Foundation. Thank you in advance; we appreciate the support!
