This will be Team Nicole's 8th year participating at the CT Walks for Haiti Walkathon and Festival and such a fitting way to honor a child, friend, niece, cousin, granchild, godchild and daughter who rendered many acts of kindness throughout her physical journey with us. The death of a child is uncommon in the United States, but currently in Haiti about 1 in 15 children die by the age of 5 - the need in Haiti remains great. Every contribution helps! $5 buys a bottle of chewable vitamins for children. $10 buys yearly school books for one child. $25 feeds a child for a month. $50 fully vaccinates 5 children. $100 funds a doctor's salary for one month. $200 funds a nurse's salary for four months.
Team Nicole has raised approximately $30,000 for CT Walks for Haiti since it's inception and has had a strong showing of support each year at the 2.5 mile walkathon/festivial. John and I are very grateful for everyone's past support. If you have the time, please come join us for the walk on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Be sure to sign in at the Team Nicole registration table and join us for an express team photo at 11:55. The festivities start at 10:30 at St. Peter Claver Parish Center on Pleasant St in W. Hartford - the walk steps off at noon. Not up for a walk - come anyway! There will be Haitian food, games and crafts, entertainment and about 80 items to bid on at the Silent Auction Tables (including dining cards, entertainment tickets, handcrafted items, gift baskets and more).
Please consider reaching out a hand to the people of Haiti - your support makes a profound difference in their lives. Thank you for your consideration.
With Peace and Hope,
