Dear friends and family,
As many of you know, Maylea was diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM) 4 1/2 years ago. We have tried numerous treatments to alleviate the inflammation in her hips and knees and she has suffered terrible side effects in the process. Also she has had to undergo numerous exams of her heart, lungs, eyes, and muscles, in addition to sitting through tediuous MRI's every 6 months, painful/stressful blood draws every 2-3 months, and missing enitrely too much school.
We still have found no relief and although she seems "normal" on the outisde, her conidtion is actually getting worse.... We are in the process of trying to get in to see doctors at NIH for additional opinions and input because her condition is so confusing and frustrating even to the top experts in the field we have been seeing.
Please, please, donate to this cause that is so near and dear to our hearts and let's work together toward a cure and better treatments for kids like Maylea.
Any amount, no matter how small is greatly appreciated!!! (I really mean it! If you can only give $10, that is still huge to us!)
And we would love to have you join us at the walk if you can!

All proceeds benefit Cure JM Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to finding a cure for Juvenile Myositis, a life-threatening disease which causes the body’s own immune system to attack healthy cells and tissues. It can cause pain, weakness, inability to walk and disfigurement. It can affect virtually any system of the body, the heart, lungs, skin, muscles, and more.
And there is no cure....YET!
But with support from friends and family like you, we’re getting closer to better treatments and a cure. Last year, we were able to fund research at 10 prestigious research institutions, helping to advance JM research at an unprecedented pace! Your support now will keep that momentum going.
