UPDATE- On March 5, 2020 we are excited ro say that Madison received her gift of life ( a liver transplant) I am happy to report she is doing fantastic and will be home bound soon . Thank you everyine for all the continued support
About 4 years ago Madison was diagnosed with a rare liver disease called Type 1 b Albernathy Malformation. For years we did routine MRIs and bloodwork. They saw 30 plus masses on and in her liver. This past summer things changed and we needed to do a biopsy. At that time they confirmed that these are benign tumors that are organized cells but eventually would be unorganized and turn to cancer. We went through a couple of months of learning and approving our next steps. She has been on the national organ donor list for 3 months.
Madison is only 14 years young. She is an amazing musician, playing the flute for 4 years and has been first chair every year. She is a brilliant student with a 3.5 GPA and loves to interact in all her classes. She enjoys spending time drawing and hanging with friends. She loves her cat Snap, and enjoys interacting with her nana and papas miniature horses. she loves to swim and go fishing with her dad. My girl has a heart of gold and is an all around awesome kid.
Please consider becoming a organ donor and help bring awareness to your community. The donations will go directly to a non profit charity to help support Gift of Life.
