This August 3rd-4th I will be attempting to run one mile every hour for 24 consecutive hours in the Anytime Fitness 24 in 24 Challenge.
This will be my fifth year participating in the 24in24 and my second year as a Challenger!
Six years ago I was delivered from 30+ years of smoking. I was given the gift of Running and I knew that such a gift was given not for my own use, but to share and to serve others.
When I saw how Running and Supporting A Special Wish came together in the 24in24 to demonstrate Love to these kids and their families, I knew I was called to be a part!
For four years I came out and supported the Challengers and I donated to the campaign. Then last year, I was given the opportunity to become a Challenger myself. It was THE Most Loving Community Event, The MOST Rewarding Running Event, and The Most POWERFUL Fundraising Event I've ever been a part of.
Being in the midst of such brave, resilient and enduring fighters (the kids), such persistant, caring, care-giving advocates (their families),, such selfless, generous athletes (the challengers), and such hard working, wish-granting, tireless supporters (the organizers) is Humbling, Inspiring, Emotional, Hopeful and I'm overwhelmed with Gratitude to be here.
Logan is a happy and rambunctious two and half year old with a smile that never ends! Last summer, after several weeks of fevers and hip pain, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. As a family, our world was shaken to the very core, but for Logan, his smile never faltered. He had his first surgery and chemotherapy treatment in July 2018, on his second birthday. On February 14, 2019, after six months of treatment, Logan was officially labeled “in remission.”
WILL YOU SUPPORT MY EFFORTS AND HELP ME GRANT LOGAN'S BIG WISH?
