Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page. On March 17, 2019, I will be running the New York City Half Marathon as part of the Lupus Research Alliance Team. With autoimmune diseases extremely prevalent throughout my family, it was clear that this was the charity partner I wanted to support and represent.
Lupus is an extremely complex disease that affects your joints, skin, brain, organs, and blood vessels while causing inflammation and tissue damage. A few years ago, my Grandma was diagnosed with Lupus. She has always been one of the strongest people I know, and I am so fortunate to have her as a role model in my life. This has made it really difficult to watch how this disease has limited her ability to do a lot of things she used to do. My Grandma does so much for my family, and I am excited to be able to do this for her and all my family members affected by autoimmune diseases.
Currently, there is no cure for Lupus, and scientists have made great strides in developing more advanced treatment methods and early intervention strategies in the hopes of one day finding a cure. With that, it is crucial that research organizations like the Lupus Research Alliance receive the funding needed to one day reach the goal of finding a cure. Thank you so much for your support, and remember that no donation is too small!
