Just me here, with another fundraiser :) I would love your support as I do my part to support another Susan G Komen's New England event this coming October.
Any one that knows me knows I am willing to try most anything, but for some strange reason I have this insane fear of bridges. So at first when I was approached to volunteer at this event I thought, absolutely. I will (on land) hand out the bibs & the t-shirts to all the runners - My good deed for the Team.
Then I thought about this for a few minutes.
I NEED to run this race.
I NEED to run over this bridge. *Fun fact; this bridge is LONGER than the San Franciso Golden Gate Bridge. The Pell Bridge is 11,247 feet long, while the Golden Gate Bridge is "ONLY" 8,981 feet long*
I need to to show strength and courage and do this.
I have had too many friends and family affected by Breast Cancer. The courage and strength of these ladies far out weighs the courage and strength I need to find to run a few miles over this long... high... bridge.
I will do this for all the women & men that have been affected. I will continue to fundraise and fight for more research and support for those that have to fight this awful cancer.
If you can please support me as I run in memory of my dear friend Kris & In honor of so many I would be forever grateful!
The mission of Susan G. Komen New England is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer. We are proud to be making an IMPACT in the fight against breast cancer right here in New England and have contributed more than $27 million in local breast health education, screening, and treatment since our inception. We are proud to be an official charity of the Citizen's Bank Pell Bridge Run! Thank you for your support.
