Hi friends! For the second year in a row, I will be joining the Rainforest Biodiveristy Group to raise money for small-scale conservation projects in Costa Rica and Central America.
This year marks the 12th annual RBG Bird-A-Thon, which is the primary means by which our organization raises funds for our small grant program. Over the past five years we have used these crucial funds to help non-profit organizations, communities, and individuals to grow native trees, monitor threatened populations, and build capacity to support eco-tourism, outreach and education.
Funds this year will support a multi-national effort by two fantastic organizations who will be working together to monitor the impacts of Hurricane Otto on Great Green Macaw populations in Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
A small amount of money can do great big things! My goal is to raise $300 to go towards our organizational goal of $3000. Every dollar of your support will go directly to funding next year's small grant recipient in their conservation efforts. With donations of $50 or more, you will receive a t-shirt featuring this year's grant recipient. If you're interested in learning more, visit our website at www.rainforestbiodiversity.org.
AND! If you're an avid birder, you can help us raise money by starting your own team and joining us for a 24-hr Bird-A-Thon on May 19th. Thank you for sharing in our efforts and for your support!
