The journey to this race has been very interesting and still has a long way to go. When I did MCM in 2017 I was trying to finish my second marathon. Little did I know that at mile 11 I would catch up to an Ainsley's Angel's team that needed help. So I helped push the sweetest little girl get to the finish line. When I got home Josh said he wanted to go to D.C and help me in the marathon. So we committed to do MCM in 2018. After training for 14 weeks, I hurt my foot 4 weeks before the marathon. I was in a walking boot and my training was suffering. 9 days before the race I found out I had a stress fracture in my right foot. But still we pushed on with the plan to complete MCM. At mile 2 a support runner (Bryan) caught up to us and ran with us. At mile 11 my foot really started hurting but I pushed on. At mile 13 I looked at Josh and asked him if it was OK if Mr. Brian got him to the finish line. He said yes, so they went on. I did finish about a half an hour after Brian and Josh.
I thought I was done with marathons, until a couple weeks later Josh looked at me and said dad next time you will finish with me.
So now the goal is to finish together!! But we need your help. Please consider donating to team Josh M as we prepare to Run with the Marines. The money we raise helps to buy more racing chairs so we can include even more individuals with disabilities in endurance sports.
