Jack made his entrance into this world on 4/24/16 at 28 weeks weighing just 2lbs 13 ounces. It was not the journey we anticipated, especially as first time parents. Jack spent his first 60 days of life at Levine’s Children’s Hospital. We were scared and overwhelmed as we navigated this new “normal”. I remember walking into the NICU on my first visit and seeing a bag with some essentials for a new NICU mom with the name Pierce’s Project on it. A few days later I looked up their Facebook page and found a group of families who had experienced and were experiencing the same journey as me. I felt comfort in their wisdom and our shared experiences. It helped me through one of the most challenging parts of my life. Pierce’s Project continues to help families through their NICU experience and after. They are committed to raising funds to offer counseling to families during and after they leave the hospital. I know myself, my husband Beau, and Jack are greatful for their support and continued work. Jack is now a happy three year old who is thriving. We could not have got here without the support of the wonderful doctors, nurses, and community. Please help me in supporting Pierce’s Project and helping other families.
