On June 18, 2018 Irene (Garneau) Berry lost her battle against a terrible disease “CANCER”
Irene was known for her signature smile, generous heart and great positive attitude. She loved life, her husband Richard, parents, three sons, sisters and brother, daughter in laws, aunts and uncles, grandchildren, great grandchildren and so many friends.
Last year I registered “TEAM IRENE” for the Seacoast Cancer 5K event at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (WDH) Foundation to help raise money for the Seacoast Cancer Center who supports all cancer patients during and after their release from WDH, and in Memory of Irene.
We started late in the fundraising but, with all of our donations from family, friends, Dover High Class Mates, “TEAM IRENE” raised $8305 dollars-outstanding. There were approximately 47 team members that ran, walked or helped out at our race table. The weather was perfect and team members had a great time.
I have registered TEAM IRENE again this year in honor of her first anniversary and in Memory of Irene. I would like to surpass last year’s goal of $8305. Cost to register s $30.00 dollars. My goal is to have the largest of team members ever recorded for the WDH 5K event. If, we together could reach 100 team members and each team member recruit one or more members etc., -wow. Three hundred Team Members/donations at $30.00 each participant would surpass last year’s goal. Anyone not wishing to be a team member can donate to TEAM IRENE.
Race Date: Sunday, September 22, 2019
Time: Race 9:00 AM (suggest to arrive by 8am for parking, check out concession, raffle and to receive your bib)
Cost: $30.00 per runner/walker or (Virtual participant members that are out of town members or not participating race day) Must be registered as a runner or walker to participate in the event
Bibs: I will pick up the bibs and distribute to all on race day
