On August 11, I will be competing in the 5th annual Rocky Mountain Flyathlon outside of Saguache, Co. The flyathlon is organized by an all-volunteer, Colorado based 501(c)(3) charity organization, Running Rivers.
For those of you who don't know, a flyathlon is a trail race where each participant carries his/her fly fishing gear and catches and releases a trout along the way. The bigger your fish, the more time that is subtracted from your final race time.
In addition to friendly competition, the goal of this endeavor is to raise money to help maintain and improve public land, public water, and native fish populations in the state of Colorado.
I will be traveling to the great state of Colorado from the equally as great, albeit much flatter, state of Iowa to compete in this year's event and am looking for your help in raising money. Please consider donating to help keep Colorado's native trout populations healthy, happy, and accessible to all public land owners for years to come.
Since Running Rivers is a 501(c)(3) organization, your donations are tax deductible.
Thanks for your support!
