Like many, my life has been touched by cancer affecting the ones I love. I have watched several close friends and family members fight this dreadful disease. Some have perservered, others were less fortunate. So on October 11th, 2020 I will be running the Chicago Marathon for a cause, to help raise money for the Immerman Angels Cancer Support Commnity.
My goal is to raise a minimum of $1250 dollars for Team Imerman Angels. No donation is too big or too small. If you or a loved one has been affected by cancer, you know how important it is to have help.
Thanks for all of your support.
About Immerman Angels
Imerman Angels was created on the belief that no one should have to face cancer alone and without the necessary support. They are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide personalized connections that enable one-on-one support among cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers.
Through their unique matching process, Imerman Angels partners anyone, any age, any gender, anywhere and any cancer type seeking support with someone just like them – a “Mentor Angel”. A Mentor Angel is a cancer survivor or caregiver who most importantly has faced the same type of cancer.
Their service is absolutely free and helps anyone touched by any type of cancer, at any cancer stage level, at any age, living anywhere in the world.
These one-on-one relationships give a cancer fighter or caregiver the chance to ask personal questions and get support from someone who has been there before. Mentor Angels can lend support and empathy and help cancer fighters and caregivers navigate the system, determine their options and create their own support systems. Frequently, caregivers experience feelings similar to those of the person facing cancer. Mentor Angels can relate while being sensitive to the experience and situation.
