Dear Family & Friends
I am reaching out to you for your supports.
As all of us know cancer is the scariest experience people have to go through. There is no one I know who can say they DO NOT have a friend or relative who has battled this terrible illness. No words can explain how awful it feel every time they go though all these despite aggressive treatments. It’s definitely a mind game for them. One day they are OK, then some days they wonder if it's even worth it or just ready to give up.
My dad is the strongest man i've ever known in my life. He never complained about any pain no matter how sick he was until last year one day he found out that he had multiple myeloma, blood cancer. Everything has fallen apart. I've seen him suffering the pain from chemotherapy and surgeries. He couldn't get out of bed, couldn't eat. His whole body hurts so much from just taking a sip of water. Seeing what he is going through shattered my world. It is tough when you live thousand miles away from the family. You can’t do anything but pray and hope for miracle to happen.
In America, medical service is expensive. Each hospital stay costs an average $15K. These are alarming figures especially for some families with financial struggle or no insurance. Imagine how can they afford not to work through cancer? I know I can do something more than just pray for them.
Therefore, my 2020 new year resolution is to run the Chicago Marathon, and along the way - I have committed to raise $1750 for the Imerman Angels Organization. I'm taking on this challenge of my life in honor of all cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers. This is my first marathon and it will be the most memorable because of the courage and strength of these special survivors and families behind me.
I am reaching out to all my friends here in America and around the world to help me make every mile more meaningful by making a small donation to support all the fighters and survivors. Please consider that every dollar counts and make a difference in someone's life.
Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and generosity!
