2020 is a NEW YEAR ! Same goals, but I am partnering with a new charity for the 2020 Chicago Marathon! I feel lucky and blessed to have the opportunitiy to run with Team Imerman Angels in 2020! To all who know me and my family (and even some of you that don't), you know cancer has had a very personal impact on our life. My sister and I lost our dad to colon cancer in February of 2006. We lost our mom to uterine cancer in 2015. To say we think CANCER SUCKS is an understatement. Because of cancer my father was never able to meet any of his grandchildren, or my husband. My nieces where only 6 and 9 when their grandma passed away. They where her everything, and she was theirs! My mom passed before I was pregnant, and never got to meet her grandson. We have felt grief, loss, and anger all at the hands of cancer. What we have also felt over the years is SUPPORT! Support from survivors, fighters, care-givers, and friends. That support is priceless! I was given the opportunity to team up with Imerman Angels by one of my favorite survivors, and a long time friend Robert Cruz! I watched one of the strongest guys I know fight for his life. And I am so happy to say he won. With the support of his wife, daughter, family, and friends he kicked cancers ass. I want to give the opportunity for support to others. That is what Imermans's Angels does. They provide support for the fighters, survivors, and families of cancer patients. This disease has become more common then I ever could have imagined. Imerman's Angels wants to ensure that nobody fights alone! Please consider any donation, and thank you for your continued support with my crazy endeavors!
