After running NYC marathon, I decided to run Chicago. I could think of no better way to do it than by fundraising for one of my all time favorite cancer support groups.
Cancer is an isolating experience. It is unique in that everything and everyway you feel changes. Immerman Angels provide one on one support by matching individuals with cancer suvivors that are a year out of treatment from the same cancer. They try to match people with a mentor who had the same type and stage, as well as someone of a similar age. Having someone to talk to about how you feel physically and mentally that gets it without questions is invaluable. Imerman Angels are based out of Chicago but provide support accros the USA. I cannot imagine a better way to run Chicago.
