Hello family, friends, and future supporters!
To those of you that may not know much about me I have been running for a little over 2 years. Saying that, I am excited to announce that I will be running my first marathon (26.2 miles) on October 11, 2020. I have learned a lot about myself and my body ever since I started running back in 2018. Through running I have become healthier in mind, body, and spirit. Before meeting my boyfriend I was an angry and selfish person who had low self-esteem. He opened my eyes in showing me how I can become a better person by releasing that negative energy through running. In 2017 I decided to sign up for my first half marathon in support of his disability. After that I kept challenging myself by increasing the distance with every run. After reaching my first goal of running half marathons I decided to add a new goal for 2020 by joining team Imerman Angels and running the Chicago marathon.
Imerman Angels is a non for profit organization thatprovides free personalized one-on-one cancer support for cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers which is known as a Mentor Angel. That is someone who had the same cancer, same stage, and is now living proof that life after cancer can be amazing. A Mentor Angel is matched with a cancer fighter or caregiver. This support helps to create a meaningful bond and instill hope during a most difficult time. We all know far too many friends and loved ones who've been affected by cancer. So on October 11th, I'll be running for those who face and fight this terrible disease. Contributing $100 or even a dollar to my marathon fundraising will be greatly appreciated and directly help provide mentors for cancer patients and caregivers, helping to make sure no one has to face cancer alone.
I know at times this journey will get difficult but your kind donations will push me and remind me why I am running, because every day we take small things for granted, like a cup of coffee. I am looking forward to this next chapter in my running journey and I hope you can join me. I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and for considering a donation to this cause. I am glad to be part of the IA team and look forward to the start and finish line in Grant Park.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much.
With so much love,
