IT’S TIME TO “WEAR RED FOR WOMEN”!
National “Wear Red Day” is February 5th, and 2021 marks iCare's 12th consecutive year of celebrating the day with our annual Wear Red picture and fundraiser.
Wear Red Day always falls on the first Friday of February, but iCare traditionally celebrates it the day before by asking folks to wear red and donate $5 to the AHA’s efforts to fight heart disease and stroke in women and wear jeans that day.
As with so many things during the pandemic, we're altering our Wear Red festivities by encouraging everyone to donate $5 despite the fact that it won't be for a jeans day BUT to Radiate Compassion and support the AHA's efforts to promote women's heart health!
Why Do We ‘Go Red' for Women’?
- Go Red for Women isn’t just about wearing red for one day in February, this initiative is a comprehensive platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally.
- Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year.
