Once again I am running the Marince Corps Marathon to help The Grassroot Project raise money for the AIDS Prevention work in local Washington, D.C. high schools and middle schools.
The Grassroot Project is a hands on, boots on the ground education and mentoring programming in the D.C. public schools, where they team local college athletes with students to help them learn how to avoid contracting HIV and developing AIDS. Washington D.C. still has a shockingly high AIDS rate and these students are at ground zero.
The Grassroot Project has been doing vital work for years and has recently begun expanding their program into a comprehenseive total health approach, adding mental health and nutrition to the areas they are working to help their students.
If you could find your way to giving a couple bucks, it would be greatly appreciated and well spent.
All funds raised will directly support the implementation of The Grassroot Project's programs --- which train local NCAA athletes as volunteer health educators to deliver eight-week youth empowerment programs in Washington, DC middle schools.
