Thsi is such a worthy cause. Having lived life with people who have a disability, I believe that NO One Should Sit on the Sidelines. There is so much life to live- so many things to do. It all comes down to the opportunity to do these things in an environment that values each person just as they are! I love this about adaptive sports and GLASA. They are not trying to change anyone. They are simply looking to offer opportunity to compete, to befriend, and to enjoy all aspects of life. There is no reason that any person- whether adult or child should not feel the triumph and defeat of competition. I strongly support their mission and ask you to join me in supporting them. I will be running the Chicago Marathon in October 2018 and fundraising on their behalf. Please check back regularly as I will be posting regularly on my progress as a runner, my progress as a fundraiser, and my heart- My dear daughter Jacie who lives life so fully, it is hard to imagine that she has a disability of any kind.
Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association's motto is: "Let NO ONE Sit on the SIDELINES." Team GLASA is a group of dedicated and generous runners who train and run 26.2 miles while also raising money in support of our participants. Please consider donating to their cause.
