I am running for Genesis Club because I believe in their mission! Genesis Club is a vibrant community of adults living with mental illness and psychological disability. A non-profit organization, Genesis Club uses the clubhouse model, where people come to daily for work, training, wellness, and personal connections. The club supports the students each semester, helping them succeed in their courses and achieving their academic goals. I appreciate the relationship QCC's Disability Services and Genesis Club share as we work together as partners in Student Success.
I am running for personal reasons as well, as my family lives with invisible disabilities. Having been diagnosed with ADHD in my younger years, I am well aware of how my symptoms impact my mood and thinking. Running, cycling, rowing, and gardening on a regular basis keep me balanced and focused. By running the Falmouth Road Race, I share my heart values by marrying a cause I believe in with a favorite activity, running (starting in Woods Hole and running past Nobska Lighthouse, no less!)
Will you help me reach my goal of raising $750? Please consider making a donation to Team Genesis to reduce the stigma of psychological disability and help build a better quality of life for all of us living with psychological disabilities through Genesis Club. 100% of the monies raised go to Genesis Club. Thank you!
Please forward to anyone who may want to join in supporting Geneisis Club!
