My Friends, this coming April 19th will be our teams fourth 26.2 Mile Tough Ruck. We intend on setting personal record finish times and quadrupling our financial contributions. We have the physical aspect wrapped up but, we need help with the fundraising portion. This year’s team goal is to raise $20,000 for the Military Friends Foundation and I’m hoping that together we can partner together to exceed this goal. If by chance, you have the available funds I ask for a donation to the cause.
What is the cause? The Military Friends foundation is an incredible 501c3 tax deductible Veterans charity that provides a helping hand to Guardsmen and Reservists facing hardships and also provides financial aid to Massachusetts families who have lost a family member while serving the nation. The foundation also presents educational scholarships to children of Guard or Reserve Veterans and Gold Star Families.
Why do We do it? Partially because We believe in the power of charity at the local level. Also, We are proud of the aid that donations in our names have provided. Mainly we complete the Tough Ruck because we know that there have been much greater men and women then us that are no longer here to put boots to pavement. These were service members that truly knew the meaning of personal sacrifice and suffering, We wish to remember them.
