My friends and Veterans, this coming April 14th will be our third 26.2 Mile Tough Ruck. We intend on crushing last years’ times and financial contributions, We can handle the physical aspect but could use a little help with the fundraising portion. This year each team member has pledged $450 to the Military Friends Foundation and I’m hoping that together we can exceed this goal. If by chance, you have the available funds I ask for a donation to the cause.
What is the cause? The Military Friends foundation is a local Veterans charity that provides a helping hand to Guardsman and Reservist facing hardships and and also provides financial aid to Massachusetts families who have lost a family member while serving on active duty. The foundation also presents educational scholarships to children of Guard or Reserve Veterans and Gold Star Families.
Why do We do it? Partially because We believe in the power of charity at the local level. Also, We are proud of the aid that donations in our names have provided. Mainly we complete the Tough Ruck because there have been much greater men and women then us that are no longer here to put boots to pavement. These were service members that truly knew the meaning of personal sacrifice and suffering, We wish to remember them.
