Team Fo' Shore: We are so deeply lucky to have our family, virtual family and extended friend-family to support and cheer us on through life's many challenges.
But what if we didn't have this team behind us? What if we weren't born into the circle of people who constantly uplift us, fuel us, and offer us countless opportunities to explore, improve and develop ourselves?
Hopefully, we'd find ourselves on the doorstep to Plummer Youth Promise in Salem, where they’ve been supporting local foster children on our North Shore with the driving belief that everyone deserves the stability and support of a family (far more info on what your funds support at the bottom of this page, so scroll away... otherwise let's talk about the event and how you can help sponsor us with your monies :)
The Event: Paddle for Plummer is their largest annual fundraiser and cultimates in a SUP (stand up paddle) race day. When you support Team Fo' Shore's paddle, you’re helping local kids find forever families. The more we raise, the more kids we... they... YOU... can help.
All funds raised support Plummer Youth Promise.
About PYP: Young people who leave the foster care system without safe, stable, permanent family connections face grim outcomes, including high rates of homelessness, unemployment, early parenting and lack of education. Plummer Youth Promise is changing that by deeply and effectively engaging families for each young person they serve while building their skills and community connections.
They work tirelessly to connect each of these kids with a family that will be with them forever. And this event (Paddle for Plummer) is what helps fuel some of these important efforts- from driving lessons and job skills training, to family dates with their biological and foster families, to outdoor team-building adventure excursions, to nurturing self-esteem through the arts and expressive activities... the list is endless... impactful... and much falls outside of government and state funding... which is why Team Fo' Shore is "Paddling for Plummer".
