On September 20, 2014, 24 couples from Scotch Plains & Fanwood gathered in a backyard and competed in the first-ever Jam Kancer In The Kan event.
Over $14,000 was raised, and a movement was started. That movement has now raised over $1,125,000 for families affected by kancer.
Last year Team Fiore raised an incredible $7,625. In the 3+years we have competed, we have personally raised over $20,000! We are excited to grow that number this year!
On September 28, 2019, teams will gather at the 6th Annual Scotch Plains/Fanwood Kancer Jam, Presented by Ray Catena Mercedes of Union. This year's event will be held at the Ash Brook Golf course and its new Tavern restaurant.
Teams will be fundraising and competing for bragging rights, as well as the right to award $40,000.00 to the kancer-related charities of their choosing. The remaining proceeds will help families near and far as they battle this vile disease.
The fight against this awful disease is very personal to us. Our Uncles Jerry and Jay both succumbed to cancer in 2010.
To have their lives cut short was devastating to us. However, we are blessed to be able to raise money in their honor and to always keep their memories alive for us and for our girls.
The mission of JKITK is simple--to provide support to organizations near or far that assist families in the throes of dealing with this hideous disease. Please help us support cancer research and consider donating to our team and The Jam Kancer In The Kan Foundation. No amount is too small and will help in the fight to rid the world of cancer!
Thanks for your support!
