I’m preparing to run my fourth Lost Lake race on August 26th, 2019 with my Figarelle's Fitness teammates. This is an almost 16 mile trail race in the mountains of Seward, Alaska that helps to raise money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. CF is a life-threatening, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and progressively limits the ability to breathe; there’s no cure.
I appreciate the opportunity to push myself outside of my comfort zone to help raise money and awareness for this disease. Each year the organizers of the run place mile markers with a picture of someone in Alaska struggling with CF and it’s inspiring to know that I’m helping to make a difference in their lives and that maybe they may live to see a cure.
