I am running the Shamrock Marathon for my mom Kate, who was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes in her mid-20s. Without the advances made from researchers like those at EVMS' Strelitz Diabetes Center, my mom might never have had three healthy kids (my siblings and me). She may never have had the glucose monitors and insulin pumps that made her busy days as a mom, spouse and working professional that much easier. I hope that, in my mom's lifetime, she may see a cure for diabetes. The researchers at EVMS' Strelitz Diabetes Center strive to make that hope a reality.
Please consider supporting the research efforts at EVMS by donating to my Team EVMS fundraising page. Your support can make a difference in the lives and livelihoods of my mom and so many others living with diabetes. Thank you.
