I am Girish Nallamothu, running the Chicago Marathon on 10/13/2019 on behalf of Every Mother Counts to help to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother, everywhere. I am making a commitment to raise funds and awareness for maternal health because of the great work that Every Mother Counts is doing.
Every Mother Counts is a non-profit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother, everywhere. In some parts of the world, many women have to travel as far as 26 miles to reach a provider or clinic, even when in labor and often on foot. Approximately 303,000 women die each year due to complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. That’s one woman every 2 minutes. Nearly all maternal deaths take place in developing countries and the vast majority are preventable.
My personal goal is to raise $2000. Please help me reach by goal by making a contribution. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
I appreciate any donation you care to make to my fundraiser.

Every Mother Counts is running the 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon for the 6th year in a row to raise awareness and funds to support maternal health around the world. Hundreds of thousands of women die during pregnancy and childbirth each year. That's 800 women every day. The good news is that almost all of these deaths are preventable. We run because often distance is the biggest barrier to a woman and her family getting the care they need. Simply put, we want to run so that others don't have to...And now, we're hoping you will lend your support no matter how big or small.
