As many of my closest friends and family know, I have always had a passion for improving the health of “babies and pregnant ladies.” On October 7, 2018 I will be running as a part of Team Every Mother Counts (TEAM EMC) at the Chicago Marathon!!
Did you know that hundreds of thousands of women die during pregnancy and childbirth each year. That's 800 women every day. The good news is that up to 98% of these deaths can be prevented. Every Mother Counts is a non-profit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother. We run because often distance is the biggest barrier to a woman and her family getting the care they need.
My work as a Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health has given me the opportunity to meet women from all walks of life. Promoting health/wellness and empowering women to make decisions about their healthcare is why I became a Nurse Practitioner. I was also given this amazing gift to be able to get up and run everyday!
Every Mother Counts is running the 2018 Chicago Marathon to raise awareness and funds to support maternal health for EVERY MOTHER EVERYWHERE.
Your support and encouragement as I embark on this journey means the world to me.
