RACHEL FABIAN, TEAM CHARLOTTE
This August 3rd - 4th I will be attempting to run one mile every hour for 24 consecutive hours in the Anytime Fitness 24 in 24 Challenge.
This is my first year running 24 in 24 and I am so honored and excited to be involved in this event! I started running again about six years ago, following a car accident and the birth of my son following. I remember the ER doctor telling me that I would never run again. That was something I refused to believe. I recovered and trained hard. I ran my first marathon three years later and continue to run for myself and honor those who can't. This time, I will be running for Charlotte!
Charlotte was born on August 13, 2013. Charlotte received her first echocardiogram, electrocardiogram and other testing when she was just three days old. She was in heart failure and had been born with Congenital Endocardial Cushion Defects. She underwent her first open heart surgery at 21 months old. She still has mitral valve regurgitation and stenosis which will eventually require more surgeries. She has also been diagnosed with Apraxia, Hypotonia, and most recently was diagnosed as having a genetic duplication on her 7th chromosome. Charlotte has experienced so much in her almost 6 years of life and remains an upbeat, caring, determined person!
Will you support my efforts and help grant Charlotte’s Big Wish?
Thanks to our sponsor, PNC Investments, Andrew Bearden!
