Team CdLS Baltimore is back for 2019! We run and walk to help raise funds and awareness for Cornelia de Lange syndrome, which can affect both children and adults in many ways.
CdLS is a distinctive genetic condition which causes poor growth, small stature, multiple organ system involvement (eg cardiac, GI tract, urinary tract), intellectual disability and behavioral problems (eg autism, self-injury). There are only about 2800 people with CdLS in the United States, with a broad spectrum of involvement, from very severe to mild enough that the family does not know the child has it.
The CdLS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit institution that provides support for families and connections for individuals with CdLS and their families with each other as well as experts from medical, educational and therapeutic specialties who dedicate their invaluable knowledge and resources on a volunteer basis.
Funds raised by through the Team CdLS Baltimore Running Festival are critical as the Foundation brings families to specialty clinics, organizes regional and national gatherings for families and professionals, and helps fund research, hoping to find a cure for many of the complications.
Thank you for donating!! It is greatly appreciated.
