WHY IN THE HECK AM I RUNNING??!
I RUN FOR TACOS AND CAKE AND NOW FOR TEAM CARTER!!
Those who know me, know that I don't like to run. I don't find it enjoyable and I look like a big, gasping tomato the entire time. But!!! When I heard about this event and learned about Carter and the other amazingly brave and kick ass kids, I couldn't just walk away--believe me I tried. Seriously! do you realize how far 24 miles is? Have you tried to stay awake for 24hrs, while running?? I may need you to roll me accross the finish line. So I'm asking you, begging you and pleading with you, to help me reach my goal as I run, walk, crawl, roll and possibly worm my way through 24 miles in 24 hours!
Carter is 5 years old and was diagnosed with Leukemia on July 27, 2018. He has been receiving outpatient treatment for his cancer at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for nearly nine months now, and he has remained positive throughout his entire journey. Carter's new normal consists mostly of playing with superhero figures, army guys, and Legos at home with me, his mom, as well as working on kindergarten readiness skills. Carter is simply an amazing, strong, inspiring little man, and he is without doubt my little superhero.
Will you support my efforts and help me grant Carter’s Big Wish?
This August 3rd-4th I will be attempting to run one mile every hour for 24 consecutive hours in the Anytime Fitness 24 in 24 Challenge.
