KELSEY HRUSKA, TEAM CARTER
This August 3rd - 4th I will be attempting to run one mile every hour for 24 consecutive hours in the Anytime Fitness 24 in 24 Challenge.
Hi! My name is Kelsey and this will be my fifth year running the 24in24 Challenge. This event means so much to me because, even though running 24 miles in 24 hours is both mentally and physically difficult, nothing compares to what these kids have been through. Raising funds and seeing the kids at the end makes it all worth it. Fun fact: I am still wearing the bracelet I got at the first 24in24 in 2015! Every year, this event is very emotional but this year will be especially. I lost my aunt back in November of 2018 and I had a really hard time for a while after. My aunt Lee always wanted my brother and I to succeed in everything we did. In past years during the 24in24, she would call me at crazy late hours when she knew it would be the hardest for me. She would tell me how proud she was, that I can do it, and how amazing I was (even though I was far from amazing). This year I am not only running for these beautiful children, but mentally I will also be running for my aunt. Please consider sponsoring me for this amazing event! <3
Carter is 5 years old and was diagnosed with Leukemia on July 27, 2018. He has been receiving outpatient treatment for his cancer at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for nearly nine months now, and he has remained positive throughout his entire journey. Carter's new normal consists mostly of playing with superhero figures, army guys, and Legos at home with me, his mom, as well as working on kindergarten readiness skills. Carter is simply an amazing, strong, inspiring little man, and he is without doubt my little superhero.
Will you support my efforts and help me grant Carter’s Big Wish?
