AMY ERTAS, TEAM CARTER
This August 3rd-4th I will be attempting to run one mile every hour for 24 consecutive hours in the Anytime Fitness 24 in 24 Challenge.
I ran this event last year and it was by far the toughest thing I’ve ever put my body through. However, working in radiation oncology I’ve seen first hand what kids with life threatening illnesses go through and nothing compares to what they and their families endure. I‘ve listened as they eagerly talk about their big wish, knowing that it‘s what gets them through the treatment that day. This year I‘m running to help make Carter’s wish come true. Carter loves to be outside and his wish is for a travel trailer so he can see the world! How cool is that?! Please help me make his wish come true!
Carter is 5 years old and was diagnosed with Leukemia on July 27, 2018. He has been receiving outpatient treatment for his cancer at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for nearly nine months now, and he has remained positive throughout his entire journey. Carter's new normal consists mostly of playing with superhero figures, army guys, and Legos at home with me, his mom, as well as working on kindergarten readiness skills. Carter is simply an amazing, strong, inspiring little man, and he is without doubt my little superhero.
Will you support my efforts and help me grant Carter’s Big Wish?
