We've come a long way since Riley had her 1st brain surgery to remove a cerebral cavernous malformation (CCM) from her brainstem in 2011 (She was 9 years old & this photo was taken the day before her surgery in Arizona). Little did we know, 3 years later in early 2015 we'd be back in the hospital when the same vascular brain tumor came back with a vengeance. Today, Riley, and thousands of others with a similar diagnosis, live with a 20% chance of recurrence. For most the only treatment option is life-threatening surgery or radiation. So our fight continues...
With each challenge, Glenn and I have watched Riley, now 17 years old, grow into a courageous and determined young woman. She inspires others with a soft, yet palpable determination. The foundation she started 4 years ago to raise awareness and funds for CCM and brain tumor research - is making a real impact. We've raised over $500,000 to support 16 research initiatives at top hospitals, labs, and universities around the world. With your help, this vitally important research for better treatment options is being funded. We are funding research and making a difference!
Please consider a donation to support our mission - every dollar amount, large or small, makes an impact.
Thank you from our family to yours!
