Grandma Pat fought Alzheimer's disease for 16 years. As I grew up, I watched her fade away until there was nothing left. I don't remember her famous cooking, her beautiful singing, or her grandma hugs because Alzheimer's took her away far too soon.
Unfortunately, my story is not unique. More than 5.8 million people in the U.S. are living with Alzheimer's. And this disease has the greatest impact on women - 2/3 of Americans with Alzheimer's are women and over 60% of all dementia caregivers are women.
I'm taking the field for my 6th year to help tackle this disease! I started out playing in memory of my grandma, but after 5 years on the team in Minneapolis and working 4 years at the Alzheimer's Association, I now play for the hundreds of families and friends I've met, too.
Please help me reach my goal of $1,300! I've never raised this much before and want to start my first year playing on BvB Dallas with a bang. Whether you can give $5 or $500, THANK YOU for tackling Alzheimer's with me!
