In 2010 I ran my first road race due to my Mom’s influence, who had recently become a running convert at the ripe age of 50. I felt inspired and decided to participate in 5K, 10K and half marathon events throughout the years. One year, I ventured to qualify for the Boston Marathon, falling significantly short of my qualifying time. I vowed to one day compete in the BAA and to play a small role in this magnificent tradition. I am thrilled to get an opportunity to run in the 2020 Boston Marathon as member of Team Brookline and the Brookline Teen Center.
My wife and I moved to Brookline in 2016 and have since welcomed 2 kids into our lives (Eva and Meir). I started a real estate development business in town and have been civically involved with a few local charities. When the opportunity to get involved with Team Brookline and specifically the Brookline Teen Center became available, I was immediately drawn. The notion of fundraising on behalf of the BTC is something that hits close to home. I had immigrated to the US as a young teenager and was presented with a multitude of opportunities in both recreational and academic areas within my local community. I feel privileged to be able to support my community in being able to raise awareness to the Brookline Teen Center through my participation in the 2020 Boston Marathon.
Please consider donating on my behalf.
Team Brookline, the Town of Brookline’s official Boston Marathon team, is a committed group of adult runners who train together for the Boston Marathon while raising funds for five partner charities that play an integral role in strengthening and enriching our community: The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health, Brookline Education Foundation, Brookline Library Foundation, Brookline Symphony Orchestra, and Brookline Teen Center.
In 2019, Team Brookline was in the top 25 of all Boston Marathon charity teams.
Since its inception in 2012, more than 155 runners, supported by friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, and each other, as well as local businesses, have raised $1.675 million to strengthen our community and make a true impact in the lives of all who live, work, or go to school in Brookline. When you train and run with Team Brookline, you strengthen our community, expanding access to mental health care, literacy, the arts, youth development programs, and education.
