Friends and family,
I hope you all are well! As you probably know, I am currently home after graduating from Williams College last June. Since hanging up my swimsuit and goggles after a long 16 years, I have been searching for the next athletic endeavor to challenge myself with. Running has always been a supplementary activity for me in addition to swimming, but since that part of my life has come to a close, I have begun to focus more and more on running. I enjoy the stress-reduction it gives me and, more importantly, feeling how the wind tickles through my balding scalp :) I have gone on long runs on my own and competed in various 5K’s, so why not tackle the Boston Marathon?
I have been fortunate to call Brookline my home for the past 17+ years and am extremely excited that I will be running on behalf of Team Brookline. More specifically, I am raising funds and awareness for The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health. Mental health, a widely stigmatized entity, has impacted us all in one way or another. The Center provides incredible, affordable mental health services to individuals and families regardless of their ability to pay, in an area near and dear to my heart.
We all have our stories- myself included. Please help me in supporting community mental health!
