Hi friends! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
This April I will achieve one of my lifelong goals of running the Boston Marathon!
I’m running as part of Team Brookline, Brookline’s Boston Marathon team, which raises money for important local charities. I’m proud to be fundraising for The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health, which offers outpatient mental health care, as well as social services for thousands of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their ability to pay.
Your donation will help The Brookline Center continue to provide care to adults, children, and families where and when they need it. You can learn more about the great work the Brookline Center is doing at: https://www.brooklinecenter.org/
Improving access to mental health care services is a cause that has long been near and dear to my heart. I'm thankful to be part of a team that lets me accomplish three things that are so important to me: supporting my local community, promoting mental health, and running.
As some of you know, these causes hit close to home for me. When my father passed away almost ten years ago, I felt like my whole world had crumbled. At 16, I had no idea how to deal with such a monumental loss. The three main things that helped me through such a difficult time were the support of my community of friends and family, attending therapy, and running. Together, these helped me process and heal. Now, at 26, not a day goes by without me thinking about my father, but I have the tools and resources to take the lessons he taught me to live a life that would make him proud. I only had my dad for 16 years, but I had 16 years of the best dad anyone could ask for. All the best parts of me come from my dad; my kindness, determination, humor, and hair are all thanks to him. Come April, I’m going to cross the Boston Marathon finish line thanks to him, too.
Thank you so much for supporting me in this endeavor, whether it's a donation to my fundraising page, going for a training run with me, or sharing words of encouragement; I truly appreciate it!
