Why Am I Running?
I am thrilled to be running the 123rd Boston Marathon! I grew up half a mile from the course and spent every Marathon Monday as a kid cheering, slapping high fives, giving out water, and idolizing the runners. I am proud and delighted that I get to take part this year, and honored to run on behalf of the Brookline Library Foundation!
The Brookline libraries provide space for learning, working, gathering and community. The local Coolidge Corner library is one of the reasons I feel so lucky to live in Brookline. Our local branch is open on weekends, and late at night multiple days a week. We use the library as a fun, free, indoor place to meet up for playdates -- sometimes serendipitous ones. My husband uses the library on weekends as a place outside of our home for quiet working time. Best and most obvious of all, I use our library almost daily for its physical, digital and audio book collections!
The Brookline Library Foundation supports programs, the purchase of books, materials and techology, subsidizes museum passes, and even helps fund construction projects like the recent renovation of the Coolidge Corner branch. Please help me raise money to keep the library strong!!
