Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am very excited to run the 2019 Boston Marathon for Team Brookline. The Boston Marathon is at the top of my bucket list and will be a challenging and rewarding way to kick off my 40’s.
I’m equally excited to run for Team Brookline. My husband and I moved to Brookline in 2011 to raise our family. We love Brookline’s excellent schools, proximity to Boston, and supportive and inclusive community. Over the past seven years we have felt more and more at home in our community.
For the past three years I have served on the Brookline Community Foundation’s Professional Advisors Committee as a way to give back to the community. Running for Team Brookline was a no-brainer for me because it supports five of the same non-profits within Brookline: the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health, Brookline Education Foundation, Brookline Library Foundation, Brookline Symphony Orchestra, and Brookline Teen Center. Many residents in Brookline are fortunate in their circumstance, but many others are in need of support. Surprisingly 13% of Brookline’s residents live at or below the federal poverty level. These local non-profits (as well as many others!) are tuned into the needs of Brookline, and I am excited to run my first Boston Marathon for Team Brookline to raise money to support their efforts.
Any donation of any size, big or small, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your support -- Hether
