As many of you know, Piper and I relocated to Brookline MA in 2017 where we have settled a stone’s throw from the Boston Marathon course at mile 23. Inspired by my brother-in-law’s running the Marathon in 2018, fondly recalling going as a kid with my dad to watch the race when we lived in Newton MA (where he would ply his doctor friends with beer from a keg dragged to the course in my red wagon), and intent on memorializing a milestone birthday this summer, I have decided to enter the 123rd running of the Boston Marathon.
I have been selected as one of thirty runners for Team Brookline, the Town of Brookline’s official marathon team, who train together for the Boston Marathon while raising funds for five partner charities that play an integral role in strengthening and enriching our community: The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health, Brookline Education Foundation, Brookline Library Foundation, Brookline Symphony Orchestra, and Brookline Teen Center. Since inception in 2012, Team Brookline has raised more than $1.2M dollars, and this year we are aiming for $270,000.
I would be honored if you would consider making a donation of any size to my Team Brookline fundraiser. And if you do donate, I will be updating you about my training and will share my bib number so that on race day (April 15th) you can track my progress.
