I am thrilled to be running in the 123rd Boston Marathon on April 15th as a part of Team Brookline (www.teambrookline.org). I began long distance running six years ago, shortly after my mother passed away from a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. I used running as an outlet to help clear my mind, and I began to enjoy seeing how far I could push myself. Over the years, as I continued to increase my mileage, I participated in numerous half-marathons, but I could never take that leap and enter a full marathon. That all changes on Marathon Monday this spring, as it has always been a dream of mine to run the Boston Marathon, and I am so excited to turn that into a reality!
As a member of Team Brookline, I will be running in support of five amazing Brookline charities, which are focused on enriching the community. Specifically, I am raising funds for the Brookline Symphony Orchestra (BSO). The BSO provides volunteer musicians an opportunity to develop their skills while enhancing the cultural life of the community through affordable performances and outreach programs.
