I am very excited to announce that I am back for my fifth season of BvB Dallas! I am honored and humbled to have been voted in as Head Coach of Team Blonde by my peers for the second straight year. I cannot express how grateful I am for this awesome opportunity. Witnessing our team bring home the BVB Cup on the Cotton Bowl field was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I cannot wait for the opportunity to defend our crown!
Why I play: Alzheimer's is the 6th leading cause of death in the US, and is the only cause of death in the top 10 that cannot be prevented, cured or slowed! Alzheimer's and dementia have likely affected your family and/or friends and they definitely have affected mine. Unfortunately, my dear friend and loyal client, Dana Drago, lost her courageous battle with Alzheimer's in February of last year, passing away just weeks shy of her 59th birthday. I'm extremely honored for the opportunity to coach in her memory for another season. In addition to honoring Dana’s memory, I once again dedicate this season to Dana's best friend and primary caretaker, Misty Keown. Alzheimer's is one of those diseases that can be as hard or harder on the caretaker than on the patient. Misty is one of the most caring and selfless people I know and I'm privileged to call her one of my best friends. Misty never left Dana's side during her four-year fight. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to dedicate another season to Misty. With your unbelievable support and generosity, I have raised over $51,000 in just four seasons to support efforts to eradicate this dreaded disease. I'm aiming high again this year, as I want to break the $65,000 career fundraising mark. Thank you in advance for any donations and for forwarding this email along to anyone you believe would want to join the fight against Alzheimer's and dementia. EVENT DATE: AUG 10, 2019.
